Today I take my journey into the scary world of freelance photography. I quit my steady job as a secretary to take on long nights of worry, more rejection than successes, and the biggest fear of all (gulp), an unstable income. All to follow my dreams as a photographer. And I couldn't be more excited to take it all on! I was listening to Spotify this morning on my last day ever as a secretary, when The Avett Brothers' "Head Full of Doubt" came on. The lyrics "decide what to be and go be it" were just what I needed to hear. So here's to doing what you believe in. Here's to those who have taken the leap I am about to take. Here's to those who have failed, and failed again, but continue to strive for their love and passions. I applaud you. You are my inspiration. To those who have believed in me and never questioned my (often) crazy ideas: Thank you. I really couldn't have made this plunge without you. You know who you are, and I love you.
Even if failure is the eventual outcome, I will know that I at least tried. And that in and of itself is a success. I invite you to come along for the ride. Whether you want to correspond through the comments, or secretly stalk this blog from afar, I invite you to participate in this journey with me. I'm going to need all the support I can get. My hope is to inspire, and to learn and share as much as I can. So I hope you enjoy, and I hope I can deliver.
Decide what to be, and go be it.
