Bird in Flight IIBird in Flight II

I love simplicity: In fashion, in design, in life. I'm a big believer in editing. Editing the fluff. The unnecessary. If too much is going on I get distracted. Call it ADHD, but I feel like we are overstimulated as a society. I guess this is the reason why I feel the need to keep things simple. These images are incredibly simple. They focus on the movement and eloquence of a bird in flight. I didn't want anything distracting this beauty. Converting the image to black and white and blowing out the background accomplished the look I was going for. They look more like x-rays than photographs, and I like that.

Take a moment the next time you feel overstimulated and sit down to really analyze something. Whether it's a Sebastiao Saigado image or a Robert Frost poem. Take 5, 10, 15 minutes out of your day to really reflect on something meaningful. We all need a little more simplicity in our lives.
